Situated on 300 acres in Southampton, NY, and neighboring famed Shinnecock Hills Golf Course, Sebonack boasts views of Long Island’s Great Peconic Bay and Cold Spring Pond. In his painting of Sebonack, artist Bob Pejman has captured a dramatic panoramic view of Sebonack's golf course and the club house against the deep blue waters, inviting the viewer into a scene with the rolling fairways, expansive bunkers, and rippling greens. Also captured in the painting is the old fashioned look of the grounds and he wild terrain of the course.
“This painting was a dramatic departure from my other works”, explains Pejman. “Most of my paintings make frequent use of primary colors and strong classical architectural detail to create a dramatic impact. This painting presented a challenge for me by limiting my color palette to mostly green and blue hues and a composition that is void of straight lines or geometric lines, with the exception of the club house…so it was important to focus on creating the ambiance that one feels on this magnificent course”.
Bob Pejman’s Sebonack oil painting is currently on display in Sebonack’s club house.
